Our resident puppy, Wrigley, broke his foot last week when he tried to wrestle with a smaller and much more agile dog than himself while residing at kennel. (he’s only 4 months old and larger than a cocker spaniel) And now with his broken foot, he’s sporting a full leg cast that has him walking like a peg-legged pirate. It’s sad and really funny all at the same time. Well, my sick sense of humor finds it funny…

I’m excited to report that my cousin, Bev, is on her way to being a bonifide first-time homeowner. She was approved on a lovely 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house on a cul-de-sac near her daughter’s school. As fate would have it, she closes escrow within days of the one year anniversary of when she moved out of her negative and emotionally abusive living situation. I am so excited and proud of her. I wish I had more vacation time, I would love to fly out and help her move.

In Long Beach, April is a busy month as citizens prepare for the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. The 33rd Annual weekend of races has become a popular event and this year, Bill and I will be attending on Saturday, and volunteering on Sunday. Patrick is going to fly down for it too. Saturday hosts the American Le Mans Series race and the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race.  Click here for this year’s list of celebrities. There’s also the Tecate Miss Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach on the Rock-N-Roar Stage… that’s a mouthful. Sunday hosts the Champ Car World Series race, the Formula Drift Challenge and the SPEED World Challenge. I don’t know squat about racing, so I have no idea how important these races are. But, it should be a fun weekend. I don’t yet know what we’ll be doing on Sunday in our volunteer duties, but we should find on on the 9th when we get our credentials and our uniform. I’m expecting a busy and probably loud weekend. I’ll try to remember earplugs.
