It’s been a quiet week at home, and busy at work. James joined us yeaterday afternoon after a week of job interviews. We’re trying to contain our excitement as he should have a job offer in the next day or so. (fingers crossed) I can’t image how difficult this process has been for him and for Kristen. While he’s out here searching for a job and a place to live, Kristen is back in Richmond packing and getting their house ready to sell and taking care of Logan.

Last night we went to Joe’s Sushi for dinner and had a good time. A few of the sushi chefs are really hilarious. They would stand there looking at us decide what to order while tapping their fingers on the glass… “what do you want next?” They know it’s irritating to us, so they do it often. We all shared a shot of soju compliments of our sushi chef, and commented on how awful it tastes. To me it tastes like slightly watery vodka mixed with rubbing alcohol. Yuck. And they were drinking soju instead of sake because this restaurant is owned and operated by a bunch of Korean guys. We had a few sushi rolls that were not on the menu… it’s kind of fun to tell the sushi chef, “make something up…” It resulted in a couple of very delicious rolls.

I don’t have much else. I ran across this comic that I thought deserved a chuckle:

Have a good weekend!

Korean guys making sushi… who’s working at the Thai restaurant, or dare I ask?

Heheh, the Thai restaurant we really like is actually owned and run by Thais. Mom thought it would be cool to say hello in Thai and received a rapid fire reply in Thai by our server.  But our two favorite sushi restaurants are not run by Japanese guys… Joe’s is run by Koreans, and the other favorite, Sushi Studio, is run by Thais. Go figure.
