Well, it’s January 2nd and we have absolutely no snow. We had a few inches early in the week before Christmas. Then it warmed up and rained and now there’s none. Apparently this is not normal for this part of Utah. During a day trip to Park City last week, someone told us that it’s normal to have well over 150 inches of snow by now. I figure we’d probably get at least half of that at our house. I’m a little worried for what’s to come since living in a “snowy” climate has been really easy so far. Maybe Utah is giving us some slack and easing us into this Winter thing.
A couple of weeks ago we had a few inches on the ground. Enough to let Tommy finally use his snow shovel. He asks to use it every time we go outside.
As you can see, there wasn’t even enough snow to completely cover the lawn.
He shoveled this much of the driveway and was done.
Thankfully, we did have a little bit of snow when James, Kristen, Logan and Dominic arrived on the 21st. Tommy, Logan and I spent some time playing. The powder was incredibly dry, so making snowballs was rather futile. Somehow Logan managed to find clumps of older snow and pummel me with it. I asked him to not hit me near the camera so instead I kept getting hit in the butt.
This was our view on the 22nd:
I have more from their visit, including pics from Christmas. So, more to come.
