I’m taking a bit of a break in my posts from our trip to China. I need some photos and video from Laikwan’s camera to continue and she gets home from Hong Kong sometime this week. So I hope to get the next posts up by Thanksgiving.
In the mean time, we had quite a bit of snow dumped on us last week. It has all melted now, but it provided us with some fun last weekend.
Even with just a few inches of snow, he had to bust out his shovel. I need to teach him how to properly shovel snow so he can actually help!
This is our second winter in Utah, but it was the first time the snow was wet enough to actually make a snowman. Tommy’s first snowman!
He loved simply running around, shuffling his boots in the snow.
Post-snow play hot chocolate.
On Friday night, even more snow fell and since Bill was home on Saturday to play with us, we took advantage.
“Look how much ‘noooo, Daddy!!”
I can’t imagine it’s easy to walk in snow that comes well past your knees…
Funny enough, he enjoyed it immensely when we threw him into the snow.
Daddy shaking the tree had him giggling.
Watch out Mommy!

Saturday night brought even more snow. Then the clouds started to thin out and we were left with a really gorgeous day on Sunday.
We drove down to a local park to play. At Flat Iron Mesa Park, there’s a massive hill that we had heard was fantastic for sledding. Some were even snowboarding down the hill.
Last Winter, sledding scared the crap out of Tommy. Thanks to the slide he loved in Macau, Tommy adored sledding down the hill. After a few runs with both Bill and me, he asked to go down by himself. Such a big boy!
Here’s a short video:
It was a blast.
Once again, he asked me to pick him up and throw him into the snow. It looks bad, but he loved it, I swear!
This great beanie that Aunt Jan made for him last Christmas is still a little too big. I think it will be perfect next winter.
This winter is going to be so much more fun than last winter… assuming we get some more snow, of course.
