Rocky Mouth Falls
This is probably one of the closest trailheads to my home and it’s one that we’d never tried until this year! With some Hike it Baby moms, we met up on a chilly and drizzly morning to explore this short and fun canyon. Because it was forecasted to rain, I didn’t bring my nice camera. It was steadily raining as we got back to our cars, so that was a good choice. I really want to figure out a safe way to bring my camera and protect it from a little rain.
This hike is short and climbs up a long set of man-made stairs and then through a residential neighborhood before venturing into the small canyon. From there it’s a fun and short walk to a very satisfying waterfall into a shallow creek. On a warmer day, it will be lots of fun to go and play closer to that waterfall for sure!
I was very grateful to have my waterproof Ahnu boots!
There were a couple of fun caves along the sides of the canyon and we let the kids get out of carriers for a short bit… which ended up being a mistake for a few who didn’t want to go back into carriers for the hike back down. My son included!
This was a fun trail that we will very likely do a few times this summer since the trailhead is so close to home.
